About channels

What are FanHero channels?

Channels are where you publish your video content.

When you create a portal on the FanHero platform, your first channel is automatically created for you. By default, the channel name is the same as your organization name.

You can edit your channel. If your organization is multi-channel, you can create multiple channels to organize your videos.

Who can view your channel?

Channels have different access levels which are determined by the type property of channel data objects in the API:

  • Auto - the access level of the channel is inherited form the organization.
  • Public - the channel content is publicly available to anyone on the internet.
  • Geofenced - there are two types of geofence that can be applied to a channel:
    • Exclusive geofence blocks access to the channel from specific locations.
    • Inclusive geofence specifies locations where the channel is accessible.
  • Private - end users need a password to access the channel.
  • Exclusive - end user needs to have a login into your organization's portal to access the channel.
  • Paywall - the end user needs to login and pay to view the channel content.

Channel status

The channel status indicates whether the channel is displayed to the end-users or not.

The status property can have one of the following values:

  • PENDING: the channel is created but not yet published.
  • PUBLISHED: the channel is published to end-users.
  • TRASH: the channel is marked as deleted.
